This Privacy Policy explains how Victorious Security Services Pty Ltd ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses and stores personal and sensitive information in connection with the VSSR Security Response Mobile Application (the "App") and related services. By using the App you consent to the practices described below.

1. Collection of Personal & Sensitive Information

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Identity Data: full name, date of birth, gender.
  • Contact Data: email address, phone number, physical address.
  • Profile Data: account username/password, emergency contacts, profile photo, other profile fields.
  • Technical & Usage Data: IP address, device type, OS, app version, mobile network, usage analytics.
  • Sensitive Data: health/medical information you voluntarily provide for emergency assistance.
  • Precise Geolocation Data: real-time and historical GPS coordinates and related location signals when you enable location features or activate VSSR.

How We Collect It

We collect information you provide directly (e.g., account creation, profile), information automatically from your device while using the App (including cookies and similar technologies), and when you activate VSSR we transmit live video, audio and precise location to our response team.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal and sensitive information to:

  • Provide, operate and maintain the App and VSSR services;
  • Authenticate your account and secure access;
  • Initiate and facilitate emergency response — including streaming video/audio/location to our security team and/or emergency services;
  • Communicate service alerts and respond to enquiries;
  • Improve and analyse our App and services; and
  • Meet legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose information in these circumstances:

  • Emergency Service Providers: Police, Fire, Ambulance and other third-party responders — including live location, video and audio when required to respond to an incident.
  • Our Service Providers: trusted vendors (cloud hosting, analytics, support) who are bound contractually to protect your data.
  • As Required by Law: where law or legal process requires disclosure.
  • To Protect Rights: to investigate or prevent illegal activity, fraud, or threats to safety, or enforce our EULA.

5. Cross-Border Disclosure

Your personal and sensitive information may be stored or processed outside Australia (for example, in the United States or Finland) by our cloud hosting and service providers. We take reasonable steps — including contractual safeguards — to ensure overseas recipients comply with protections comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Data Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, authentication, and regular security testing. However, no transmission or storage method is 100% secure — absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes collected, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. VSSR activation data (video, audio, location logs) is retained for 12 months for quality assurance, dispute resolution and legal compliance, then securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Under the Privacy Act you may:

  • Request access to your personal information;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Lodge a complaint with us or with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

You can manage some settings within the App. For other requests contact our Privacy Officer (details below).
